FAQs
What is Communicat?
Communicat is a real-time communication referee.
It helps slow down tense conversations by identifying harmful or escalating communication patterns, explaining why a message may make things worse, and creating room for apology, rephrasing, and better understanding before conversations spiral into fights.
It does not take sides.
It is designed to help both people communicate better and with more clarity.
Is Communicat just another chat app?
No.
Communicat supports messaging but it is more than a chat app.
It is available through the Communicat mobile app, WhatsApp, and manual evaluation tools on the app and website, so you can get support in the way that fits your conversation best.
What does Communicat actually do with a message?
When a message is sent, forwarded, pasted, or written into Communicat, it can:
Identify negative or risky communication patterns
Highlight why a message may escalate
Suggest clearer, calmer alternative wording
Help you understand a message you received but feel unsure about
Translate messages with emotional context, not just literal meaning
Think of it as a second set of eyes when emotions are high.
Does Communicat rewrite my messages automatically?
No, and that is intentional.
Communicat suggests improved versions and explains why they are safer or clearer.
You always stay fully in control of what you send.
Can Communicat help with unsent messages?
Yes.
Before sending a message, you can use Communicat to check:
Risk of escalation
Hidden tone or unintended meaning
A calmer version that keeps your intent intact
This can help create room for a better response before the conversation gets worse.
Is Communicat biased or judgmental?
No.
Communicat is designed to be:
Neutral
Non-judgmental
Pattern-focused rather than blame-focused
It looks at how something is communicated, not who is right.
Can I turn AI evaluations off?
Yes.
Each user can:
Opt out of evaluations per chat
Temporarily pause evaluations
Use cooldowns to stop conversations entirely for a set time
Control stays with the people in the conversation.
For evaluations to be completely off in a chat, both users need to turn them off.
What is the cooldown feature?
Cooldown lets one person pause a conversation when emotions are running high.
During cooldown:
Messaging is temporarily disabled for both sides
A system message explains when the conversation will reopen
The cooldown can end automatically or manually by the person who started it
It acts as a circuit breaker for fights.
Does Communicat support audio messages?
Yes.
Communicat can transcribe audio messages and evaluate spoken communication patterns so users can better understand how a voice message may come across.
This is especially useful when tone matters as much as the words themselves.
Does Communicat translate messages?
Yes, but not like a regular translator.
Communicat helps translate:
Meaning
Tone
Emotional intent
This can be especially helpful in bilingual relationships or other conversations where nuance matters.
Is Communicat AI-powered?
Yes.
Communicat uses AI to:
Detect communication patterns
Analyze emotional signals
Generate safer alternative phrasing
It is designed to support human judgment, not replace it.
Is Communicat meant only for couples?
No.
Communicat is especially relevant for romantic relationships, but it can also help in conversations with family, friends, and other close interpersonal relationships where communication starts to break down.
Is Communicat meant for therapy or diagnosis?
No.
Communicat is not therapy and does not diagnose people or relationships.
It is a practical, moment-to-moment communication tool, similar to spell-check for emotional conversations.
Does Communicat store my messages?
Messages may be processed temporarily to generate evaluations, and Communicat is designed with privacy and minimal data retention in mind.
Messages and evaluations are encrypted outside of AI analysis.
Why does Communicat feel different from advice apps?
Because it does not just give generic advice.
Communicat works with real messages, in real time or through manual evaluation, when emotions are present, not hypothetical situations.
It helps you navigate this conversation, not abstract rules.
Who is Communicat for?
If you have ever thought:
I do not know how this will land
This keeps turning into a fight
I wish someone neutral could step in
That is not what I meant, but it came out wrong
Communicat is built for you.
